Toronto — August 30, 2022 — NexJ Health Inc. (“NexJ Health”), provider of advanced virtual care solutions for polychronic disease management and mental wellbeing, is pleased to announce that US-based National Hemophilia Foundation has selected NexJ Health to deliver a virtual health coaching program to young adult males aged 18-26 years old with a bleeding disorder called hemophilia A or B.

The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) is using NexJ Connected Wellness to deliver the ‘Own Your Path’ program, providing participants with one-on-one health coaching and evidence-based educational content to encourage behaviors that promote treatment adherence, including prophylaxis regimens. Participants will be connected to a NexJ Health Coach and peer leaders. This support system will help participants identify and progress towards their health and wellness goals throughout the program.

Individuals diagnosed with hemophilia require a broad range of knowledge and skills to be able to adhere to the prophylactic treatment regimen prescribed by their hematologist. The provision of health coaching and educational content on NexJ Connected Wellness will help ensure that young adults diagnosed with hemophilia have the core skills required to promote adherence and supplementary treatment skills to properly manage their health and wellness into the future.

Brendan Hayes, Director of the Education and Innovative Therapies at NHF, says, “This unique program, delivered on the NexJ Connected Wellness platform, will equip young adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to become adherent to their prescribed prophylactic treatment regimen, and to sustain adherence post-intervention. NHF is grateful to NexJ Connected Wellness for making this important program a reality.”

The goal of Own Your Path is to support the young adults participating in the program to gain the knowledge and skills needed to encourage treatment adherence, and supplementary treatment skills to better manage symptoms and complications of hemophilia and to live a safe and healthy life.

“NexJ Health is proud to be working alongside The National Hemophilia Foundation to deliver the Own Your Path program,” says Daniela Liggio, President of NexJ Health Inc. “We are also very pleased with the momentum we are seeing in the U.S, and excited to add NHF to a growing list of notable philanthropic foundations that have selected NexJ Connected Wellness as the virtual care platform to reach the individuals they are supporting.”

Following the initial phase of the program, adjustments and process improvements will be implemented, leading to the expansion of Own Your Path to a wider population.
