Participants can seamlessly measure and track blood pressure, SpO2 and heart rate by connecting the NexJ Health Coach app on iOS 14 and above, and Android 8.0 and above with Bluetooth-enabled devices

Toronto — November 24, 2022 — NexJ Health Inc. (“NexJ Health”), a provider of polychronic disease management and mental wellbeing solutions, is proud to announce their newest Bluetooth-enabled blood pressure and oximeter device integrations: A&D Blood Pressure Monitor and ChoiceMMed Pulse Oximeter.

Participants can track and capture their behaviors and biometrics automatically by synchronizing their personal wearable device (e.g., Fitbit, Garmin), and Bluetooth-enabled health monitoring devices (e.g. blood pressure cuff, oximeter) to the NexJ Connected Wellness platform. This new Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) integration enables instantaneous transfer of blood pressure, SpO2 and heart rate data to the NexJ Health Coach app with a streamlined user experience. The integration was done in support of a three-year study to enable clinicians to anticipate when adverse events will occur among patients with high-risk chronic kidney disease, and to intervene before they progress.

Telehealth has seen an increase in use over the recent years with convenient features such as telemonitoring for weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, symptom tracking, and communication of symptoms. The BLE integration can be clinically useful to remotely monitor patients’ conditions from the comfort of their home, which may reduce emergency department visits and hospitalizations. The enhancement of NexJ Connected Wellness with the BLE integration also supports clinicians to focus their resources on supporting patients with more severe needs, therefore reducing the intense pressure on healthcare workers.

The BLE integration aims to enable participants to monitor their blood pressure, oxygen saturation and heart rate and synchronize it on NexJ Connected Wellness. The patient-generated data helps to facilitate conversations with clinicians around daily health assessments and weekly symptom surveys. This patient-provider communication ultimately assists in improving patients’ lives.

“This BLE integration was a natural next step for us as we strive to improve the patient and provider experience,” said Tiffany English, Vice President of Products at NexJ Health. “What’s exciting about this new BLE integration, is that it’s available to everyone on the platform, and has already helped clinicians prevent an emergency department visit because of the monitoring component.”

NexJ Health continues to expand the functionality of NexJ Connected Wellness with new features and integration across devices to provide advanced patient-centered solutions. With this new integration, NexJ Health can now support clients with more innovative wellness trackers to monitor chronic conditions.
