Toronto – February 25, 2021 – NexJ Health Inc. (NexJ Health), a provider of advanced virtual care solutions for chronic disease prevention and management, has exceeded 1 million COVID-19 screenings on NexJ Connected Wellness as a part of their Safe Facility Access program being used to keep over 90 facilities in the US open during the pandemic. These facilities include call centres for Medicare, Medicaid, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

When the pandemic hit, Maximus Inc., a leading provider of government services worldwide operating the facilities, implemented NexJ Health’s Safe Facility Access program, which was configured within 48 hours and deployed within 72 hours. The program was customized for Maximus as “Clear2Work”, providing daily screening for employees to evaluate risk and exposure to COVID-19. Employees “cleared” for entry are assigned a time-sensitive visual indicator visible on their mobile phones from six feet away, so employees can maintain physical distancing measures while they enter the facility. Employees “not cleared” for entry are denied access and can use NexJ Connected Wellness to continue tracking risk and exposure.

“Protecting our employees’ health and wellness is our top priority, as they continue to help and serve some of the most vulnerable and at-risk communities across the United States during this pandemic,” says Dr. Michael Weiner, Chief Medical Officer at Maximus. “The Clear2Work program has supported Maximus with a screening tool that helps to keep essential workers safe and on the job through monitoring of temperature, symptoms, and exposure, with risk threshold alerts to ensure a safe and healthy workplace in the era of COVID-19.”

The Safe Facility Access program includes vaccine management, which allows pre-screening, scheduling, and tracking for COVID-19 vaccinations. For individuals concerned about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, multimedia education is available to address vaccine hesitancy in the NexJ Connected Wellness health library. The program provides follow-up to ensure individuals receive their first and second shot and identify who has been vaccinated, tested, or exposed to COVID-19. A digital passport based on vaccinations, tests, and screening is accessible to users. NexJ Health also designed the program to capture patient reported adverse vaccination outcomes.

“Maximus responded with urgency to the COVID-19 challenges putting the health and safety of their employees as their main priority,” says Daniela Liggio, President at NexJ Health. “We’re pleased to continue supporting Maximus with a program to protect the health and wellbeing of their employees.”
